Terms of Use
Last updated 7 October 2026
By using Whiskerhood you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use Whiskerhood
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
Being a good neighbour
Whiskerhood only works if people can trust it. When you use it, you agree not to:
- add fake cats, fake check-ins, fake care records or misleading health reports;
- post anything hateful, harassing, violent, sexual, or that harms animals;
- use the app to find, take, harm or sell any animal, or to track or bother other people;
- post other people's private information, or photos you do not have the right to share;
- spam, cheat, or try to break, overload or get around the app's safety features.
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Animal welfare and safety
Whiskerhood is a community tool, not a veterinary or emergency service. Health information in the app is not veterinary advice. If a cat is injured, sick or in danger, contact a vet, a local rescue group or the relevant authorities. Approach street cats with care; never put yourself or the animal at risk. Follow local laws about feeding and caring for street animals.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you add. By posting them in the app, you give us a worldwide, free licence to host, show and share them within Whiskerhood and to show them in our own promotion of the app, for as long as they are in the app. You can delete your content at any time.
Our app
Whiskerhood, its design, characters, artwork and code belong to us. You may not copy, sell or reverse-engineer the app.
Paid features
Whiskerhood is currently free. If we add paid features, they will be described in the app before you buy, and purchases will follow the rules of the App Store or Google Play.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep Whiskerhood running and accurate, but it is provided "as is". Information on the map and from other players may be wrong or out of date. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for anything that happens when you act on information in the app.
Ending your use
You can stop using Whiskerhood and delete your account at any time.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are important we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
